A Russian missile struck a hotel in Kryvyi Rih in Dnipropetrovsk Oblast late at night on Aug. 26, according to the city’s military administration head, Oleksandr Vilkul.
Search and rescue workers discovered under the rubble the body of a fourth person killed in the attack, Ukraine’s State Emergency Service confirmed on overnight on Aug. 28. Five others were also injured in the attack.
Two of the wounded civilians – a 43-year-old woman and a 37-year-old man – were hospitalized. The woman is in critical condition, the governor said.
Apart from the hotel, the attack also damaged six shops, four multi-story buildings, and eight cars.
Kryvyi Rih, with a population of around 660,000, is the second most populous city in Dnipropetrovsk Oblast. It has suffered multiple deadly attacks by Russian forces since the outbreak of the full-scale war.
Another hotel was struck by Russian forces on Aug. 24 in Kramatorsk in Donetsk Oblast. The strike on the Safir (Sapphire) Hotel killed British national Ryan Evans, a security adviser for Reuters, and injured six others, including two local female residents.
